Did 14 today with two trucks in about six hours with the Sat schedule, that's 518 dollars total both trucks, port was super light and easy today. I swear though, for the value of the merchandise... we should be making more money. d**nit, if we could and should double our rates we could really live the American Dream... you know the boat, the beach house and all that stuff. The stuff we should have for working our asses off so that a bunch of super consumers can buy anything they want at any time I mean EVERY THING these super consumers eats, wears, drives, sleeps on,wipes their tails on, drinks, smokes, takes for heartburn....etc etc etc etc ... comes on a truck and most of it though a port from China. DAMMIT WE NEED BETTER RATES, SO WE CAN AFFORD SOME OF THE STUFF WE HAUL. Je-wiz

Well if you dont like the rate you are getting then simply dont haul the freight. As long as you are willingly hauling the loads why would the company ever just graciously give you a rate increase? They are in business to "make money" just the same as we are. We lost some of our gravy freight awhile back that was nice and light and all that is left is the heavy stuff(95k gross kinda heavy). The majority of us told the company that if they didnt go up on the rate that we werent going to haul it.........guess what? We got a rate increase. Albeit not all that we wanted but enough that its worth hauling the freight. So remember that as an owner operator (leased or independent ) you are a BUSINESS. Driving the truck is the easiest part and to some degree the least important. So when your not getting the rate that you want to buy all the things that you want then you need to look into the mirror bc the only person going to help you situtation is you. When enough ppl actually understand what are good rates and what are rates from 20yrs ago then you would see rates rise. However as long as there are ppl happy to haul for cheap companies will pay cheap. But remember they might have the contract for the work and so on....remind them whostruck is moving it and it wont move with out (and yes this cant be done in a construtive and professional way).
So anyways back to my lovely memorial day vacation at the beach house on the bay located on the beautiful eastern shore.

what is the Rate for drays out of GPA for most companies? What do drivers think is a fair price for going into the port and dray a box out?
I hear $35 40 $42 $50 $60
What is your company paying what do we ask for for local moves
