So true but they are still standing in line, ready, willing to run their trucks into the ground for the company. I don't know what it will take for these drivers to wise up. I guess first off you have to understand what it cost to operate your commercial vehicle. Well that leaves two thirds in the dark right from go.

r we better off this year? i was just watching drivers at pmt yesterday thinking how many drivers would stand up with a few of us against the companies at the port. i bet you couldn't get fifty in tidewater with the balls to stop work for more then three days. sad but i don't believe this head buried in the sand attitude will ever change unless rates go down to seventy cents or fuel goes up to $7.00. we are plain screwed working the ports. the only escape is quit and go somewhere else if you want change because you'r not going to find it here in virginia among drivers who cut each other off in the lanes.

i am sorry that no one is holding driver meetings in norfolk anymore. we need a driver association badly in this area. due to the way things turned out the last time i understand why no one has taken up the task of organizing truckers again but we truly need something here. i do not mean union when i say we need something but a group of drivers who honestly are interested in helping each other if that is even possible today. who knows maybe one day?

I think people are lazy until a crisis. We are all guilty but somehow this has to change. I just wish I had the answer. Virginians didn't use to be this way. Georgia truckers have been up here several times in the past to help us out but what appreciation do we give them? July first new regulations are coming down from the FMCSA so that might spark something but doubtful. We are our own worst enemy.
