you guys need to tone down the flames toward each other. save it for the real enemy. that is - the few slimy trucking companies - who are stealing everything they can get their hands from the owner-operator. let's beat them up but good! what needs to happen in virginia is this port trucker web forum should be posted around the port first monday of every week for all to join in. i got this site only because another driver found it and emailed the link. reading some back issues this has been around for a while. should be a thousand members on here by now if word was getting out.

you are right but hey they attacked me , not vice versa. I am just trying to state the facts and help drivers realize they power that they hold .

Some of the older posts talk about the o/o starting a company of there own... why not. Then we could not complain if we were running it right?
Tell me what you think...

The issue we have here in Va. is that there are too many companies competing for work now . We don't need another company , unless it is ALL the owner Ops coming together, putting asaide their differences , and working towards a common goal of getting rid of these craphole companies and Agents who are screwing us daily

the problem can never be solved as long as you have brokers willing to give dirt cheap rates knowing that there are plenty of hungry drivers willing to do it so they can feed there family, not blaming the drivers,we can only work with what we are offered.but the brokers make a profit no matter how low the rate while we work for free.i sold my truck a month ago and I'm not doing well but i will not provide a truck for the agents to make a living for free.I'm still netting close to what i was with my truck as a company driver, maybe if more parked there trucks and wore out company equipment they would get the message.

i didn't sell my truck but i parked it as well and i'm running a forklift on night shift in one of the dc's until after first of year. during the day i pick up a little work in construction. this is not what i chose to be doing but depending on what freight rates look like in jan/feb i'll decide if the truck will just sit for a while longer. at least i'm not burning fuel up to do favors for the stinking customers at rdc.
