Good morning Client Relations Center,

This is xxxx xxxxx with xxxxx xxxxxxxx here in Savannah. I was not aware of set gate hours at gate 5 for bobtail trucks as being 6am. I'd like to confirm whether it is indeed a policy or not. We often come in early to find equipment and make it to the kiosk area by 6am. It is a really inconvenience if it is. Would you please just email me back and let me know?

In order to make it to the kiosk area by 6am, bobtails often come in early to find good equipment. It can be rather time consuming depending on condition of available equipment. Therefore, it is a matter of time and productivity.Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.

I had first gone to Port police at the gate and then I asked the gate manager who said that he does not see any issues with Bobtail trucks entering prior to 0600. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.

The gate operations manager is Eddie Johnson, I am not allowed to give out his number. The driver should ask port police at the gate to verify with their supervisor if the driver is being told something different.

Good Morning,

I am sorry to inform you that eight drivers were turned around at 7:30 this morning. The officer at gate called her supervisor, Sgt. Schofield, I believe, who said he knew nothing of the sort and to turn drivers around. The drivers are now waiting outside port property to get in. I do not know what to advise them. This is what I was trying to prevent where it would fail to be communicated to necessary parties.

Please advise.

Please see below:

Bobtails will be allowed entry 30 minutes prior to the start of Gate Ops. That time will correspond closely with the opening of the Perimeter gates allowing trucks to approach the Pedestals and provide for appropriate Port Security Personnel to be in place.

0530 for a 0600 start on Mon - Fri
0730 for an 0800 start on Sat
