Sorry everyone about the delay in having another Savannah driver meeting. We're cautiously working together on a few good things but it's taking additional time for this to happen in the proper manner. It's certainly not like there's any national emergency about to occur at this port for any of us. We each know the score by now. Nothing out here is going to seriously change for anyone the remainder of this year no matter what we do especially with the economy slipping deeper into the black hole of non-recovery.
We're trying to work out a schedule with some very interesting folk who would love to come down to the south to speak at our next meeting. They want to bring along a few more important guest that are interested in what we are trying to create at this port. It takes time to build anything worth while so let's do the best we can to get through the holiday season. We hope to announce another meeting real soon to update those of you who want desperately to see change come to Savannah.
I had a young trucking company manager tell me the other day that we posed a dangerous threat to their way of business here. Funny I don't see it that way. The threat I see is the current pattern in trucking where certain individuals of management in this business feel they have to constantly control others working under them by limiting what the trucker makes (no matter how hard he/she works) to keep them dependent on this self appointed controller.

i'm leased to someone like that now. he is always screwing with the money on the same loads. i have to question every week how my pay came up a few dollars short. the ones that don't pay attention or say anything about this get shorted on something every payday. this sucks dealing with crooks. a mistake is one thing but every week? that's not a mistake

Bottom line here in the port community, nobody is holding a gun to your head and making you take the loads. The truth be told its the big owner-op losers who can't make it in business. They are the loudest complainers. It's capitalism so if you don't like it move to China!
