hi everyone:)i know this has been repeated before but for the record i'm wondering how many of you would join a decent driver association if that could make a difference. just a thought. anyone else have ideas on how we could convince others that we need to do something beside gripe? is this idea hopeless or washed out? c'mon guys, there has to be a few who still care. speak up or remain in denial.

I would join but this would have to be run on a professional basis like OOIDA is in MO. Maybe you could start a local chapter. Does OOIDA do that? Someone should ask them.

hi everyone:)i know this has been repeated before but for the record i'm wondering how many of you would join a decent driver association if that could make a difference. just a thought. anyone else have ideas on how we could convince others that we need to do something beside gripe? is this idea hopeless or washed out? c'mon guys, there has to be a few who still care. speak up or remain in denial. I wish you luck with this. If you need some advice feel free to email me. I will try help anyone who tries to put something together. I'll even help you step carefully over the rough spots whereby you don't repeat all of our past mistakes. XXXXXXXXX I'll even attend your meetings but it's your show... I'm burned out from years of being a thorn in the side of maritime management plus I have other trucking business that needs my attention. One of your biggest problems is drivers are most certainly their own worse enemy, can't blame management here. Management just hangs out and simply takes advantage of what they see is a great situation for them. There are enough truckers who haul out of these ports to demand change right now if everyone were to decide to organize. Organizing truckers is like herding cats. Ya round sixty up over here, lose twenty over there, five lack the attention to stay focused... Conquer/divide is still managements best choice. So far I don't see they have anything to worry about. I for one would love to see container rates double. It'll help each of us in all forms of trucking even if we don't ever move a can at the port. Cheap rates effect the entire industry.

OK-soon as we get four thousand drivers who think like that we go after the b@$tards. Until then it's happy days are still here-dog eat dog.

i tell you what we can do to make this better. leave their garbage on the docks go fishing for two weeks. they'll have a different attitude when we return. it would take 70% to bring the shippers completely to their knees. prepare for three solid weeks of parking trucks at five major container ports. number one. there has to be an organized script that everyone sticks to. without that this is a useless exercise for all. late summer, early fall freight season is best for maximum results.
