What do you mean by getting on? You , your truck? Are you talking about a job with CXS or Norfolk Southern as employee?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I want info about how I would get on with a rail yard like csx to haul their freight/containers with my truck. Thanks

unless you have the interchange agreement, a ton of insurance, factoring company to pay on your due receipts or your wealthy enough to operate while waiting on your money for a couple months your better off leasing to a carrier who works the rail. you also have to provide something that others are not such as even lower rates if they were to even consider dealing with a small unfounded individual trucker.lol

i have three friends who almost went bust trying to do this same thing. these container shippers want someone willing to pull cheaper then the rest of the bottom feeders. they expect full service but with cheap rates. you are better off like the other guy said go with a lease company and get paid every week.

The posts are correct, I just gave up my container authority. Lets see; 1. UIIA Membership - 305.00 per year 2. Insurance - 3500.00per year(Just for containers) 3. Public liability and cargo insurance 4500.00 per year. 4. SCAC Code - 55.00 per year 5. Chassis Rental - ( ?) 6. Factoring at around - 5% (If you can find some one) 7. Railroad(Go to UIIA website to get requirements)Good luck The list will continue. I would not tell any one not to do it, but please do homework or you will be working for same rates as a lease operator. Happy New Year

It is for that precise reason then that truck factorization is a wonderful supply of economic aid for a shipping company because it helps to showing neatness evade the bulk of the orthodontist and logistic issues therefore typically attributed to thought sources of finance.
