yeah why are the oakland truckers taking on the establishment by themselves while we look on confused as always? isn't it time we did something too? it's a shame this kind of shut down cannot be coordinated from coast to coast. wow i bet the shippers would call obama to try stop us from doing it. what can they really do? can't eat us and they sure can't fire us. while the christmas season is in full swing what a better time to hit them then now. we should have thought about doing this months ago. i guess i am like everybody else. run 24/7 without giving a d**n about what others are doing. that's the problem. we have to learn to unite together somehow. maybe on here before to late. if not now when?

u get together 5 hundred of these port hauling eggheads and you might have a fighting chance. strength is in numbers. the port of savannah will fight you every step of the way. they have a vested interest to keep trucking rates dirt cheap for their customers. they also are a bunch spineless managers when it comes to taking action against bad trucking companies who screw over their georgia owner-operators. no one gives a s#^t. shamefully not even most drivers out here at the gpa. the majority figure they won;t be out here long anyhow so screw everyone else. jus telling it like it is. i would shutdown in a moment if others would participate but first get it together. be ready for at least a couple weeks of no work. no moves at all. how many can do that? there is one of your biggest hurdles. figure that out and your half way home.

east coast truckers. we need work together. we have same issues on both coast. we have to solve our own problems. the ilwu helped us here in oakland to shutdown the port. maybe the long shore union in the east will help you in someway? in the end it will take truckers like us to make final conditions better. we can do this if we join our people. may god bless.

i feel for the guys who have to buy new trucks. we don't need that garbage to get started here in the southeast. for that reason we need a driver organization. i don't think ooida has a grip on this. they are in grain valley, mo. we need something for independent truckers to have a voice in local politics at each port. i don't know how that can be done but it is vital for our survival before it is to late.

it appears that a lot of you drivers are becoming more interested in jump starting a meeting of sorts. i would also like to see about doing same. we will see how long that thought last. maybe after the holidays there will be a little more time for a few of us to try throw something back together. it's been a long time since that has happened and it looks like the teamsters are just spinning their wheels around here. i for one am worried they will start back with that clean truck BS in Savannah so we do actually need to get a few of the old warriors together again.
