Starting 1/26/09 flex time will end at Conley Terminal in Boston. The hours of operation will go back to 8 am to 12 noon, 1 pm to 4:15 pm. Coffee breaks will also be within those hours. This will definitely $uck for the O/O's. There will be lines backing up constantly. Drivers are now talking about an appropriate response. The Last time this happened, we shut down the port for the day and got the flex-time back. I don't know what's going to happen.

Sorry Saddletramp, The port took away some of the flex-time. The pier opens at 8:00 am instead of 7:00 am. They don't close for lunch though and that helps prevent long lines for the afternoon. The port also cut back 1 clerk on the inbound gate and 1 clerk on the outbound gate. This has created some backups, but nothing ridiculous. Some of the ILA members want the truckers to shutdown the gate like a few years ago, when flex-time was taken away. The business just isn't there to justify something that drastic. The ILA members only want this because they are losing 5 hours of overtime every week.
