Recently Leased on to this company 4 short weeks. At first it was great. High payin freight. But then I noticed the dispatcher was telling me load A and B were paying high. I took it and got my settlement the next week and learned it wasnt high. It was 1.12 a mile. Then they started penalizing me for taking a day off during the week for maint issues. Wouldnt offer me wkd work although they had it. Called me and asked if I was quitting. Eventually left becaue they only would offer me cheap freight. Now it gets interesting. Follow me Drivers!!! I pulled my placards after a 4 day notice. Turned in all Titan material. I turned in 2 comcheck cards. 1 was for fuel. 1 for my pay. Pat who is the Agent told me to write down my card number so I can access my settlement the coming friday. She was so smiling! By thursday my card was cut off and she told me she wasnt sure how I would get my settlement. Friday Titan in Monroe NC said Pat needed to notify Patsie in CHS that I turned in all my stuff. Placards and all. Then Titan in Monroe would "Cut a Check." By the end of the day, (Oct 14) Patsie said she was taking my settlement and applying it to my Escrow to make it an even 750 which is the requirement. She would mail me the settlement balance next wk. I told Titan in Monroe NC I better get the whole 750 in 45 days or there will b a lawsuit. They sounded fatigued and as upset as I was. I called OOIDA and they said its not common anymore for scumbag companies to do this. I dont owe this company any money. In fact my settlement was only 750. 3 runs. Bottom line is :You quit they keep your last settlement out of spite and hold it BC you quit. Then tell lies and run you around. Company name is Titan Transport/Harris Transport. Out of NC. The whole operation in SAV is family ran. But you arent suppossed to know that. Right down to the Drayer that pulled your box with slick tires. Woman runnin it out of CHS is named Patsie Santos. Titan local Address is 151 Telfair rd next to MDS behind JIT Warehouse. They recently ran off all the O/O with their own Authority except for a few. Their yard is bare.

Nutsandbolts, you are so right. I actually came back on here to post other stuff I remembered.
One was they didnt load your settlement until after 11am on Friday. Two they made YOU pay for Cargo Insurance on the loads. Three they make you get OCC Ins. Four they would charge you for the Fuel on the run but not pay on the run. You had to really watch the fancy paperwork.

Until the termination of the ICC in 1995, there had been no serious challenge to the illegal business practices of carriers in the court system. With the termination of the ICC, though, confusion existed as to the authority of the courts to consider cases involving the federal leasing regulations as well the interpretation of the regulations.
Many of the class actions brought about by OOIDA in recent years have helped define and solidify key interpretations of the federal leasing regulations by the courts and established legal precedents for future cases.
Some of the landmark rulings that have become the foundation of OOIDA’s legal actions against carriers include:
establishing an owner-operator’s right of private action against a carrier for violations of the federal leasing regulations. the court’s acceptance of their mandate to enforce the federal leasing regulations. the court’s agreement that the leasing regulations must be strictly complied with in leases court-imposed injunctions against a carrier from using leased equipment if their lease is not compliant with the leasing regulations the certification of complaints as a class action to achieve the ultimate success for large numbers of owner-operators the court’s recognition of drivers’ escrow funds as a fiduciary trust that must be held separately from operating funds and bankruptcy settlements. The court’s acceptance of four-year statute of limitations when considering claims against carriers. The piercing of the corporate veil in going after directors of carriers in their personal capacity for restitution on judgments.

I am sorry to hear that you were railroaded by this company..there is a double standard for drivers, if you run in charleston you have one set of rules and if you run in savannah another set. No broker drivers in charleston have to have fuel cards nor pay in a escrow account but the broker drivers in savannah do. the broker's bond is 1500.00 which is greater that a leased drivers escrow which is 750.00. The agent Patsy Santos also takes 15.00 off the top of every load to put into a tire fund which is to be used to pay for flats but of course is used for all invoices that she can not pin on a driver..This is against the leased drivers contracts and brokers contract. If you are leased to this company check your lease against your pay I can guarantee you there is a difference in what is billed out.

problem is no one willing to do anything about this. even if drivers know what action to take few few have the guts to go against the trucking company. she's breaking the law by doing this but watch no one will ever stop it.lol

Thats the problem no one sticks together.. The safety director frank seay is like a puppet he just does whatever he is told..pretty bad when they let an agent as Pasty Santos to run the show... She has been in trouble with taking money before with a different company according to her husband and sister in law...I would very careful doing anything with her or anyone that she is affiliated with.

They are awful. Will HOLD pay just for pissing them off. They laugh at pist off drivers!!! It's the only fun they have because they have no life after work! Its awful seeing these drivers working their butts off for their families to put up with these jackasses! I feel sorry for anyone that works or drives fro them!!!

Good luck . I tried a couple times before with O/O drivers working the same place where I did. I even paid out of pocket once for a court recorder to come take notes for a deposition. Four of sixteen drivers who the company had stolen money from showed. The rest lost their nerve somewhere between kissing our terminal managers nuts and leaving home to make another load on the very Saturday that we planned to all meet. Most these guys are scared of their own shadow.

I was informed by a O/O who is still running out of Savannah Terminal that Pat and her Brother as well as his Trucks were thrown off the yard sometime in July-August 2012. Story was Harris (monroe NC)found out Pat was stealing and stashing money somewhere in the Office. They went down to Savannah and threw her off the yard. I see the Brothers Driver Driving another Truck for someone else now but havent seen the Brother or Pat anywhere to Date. Heard Deb Santos was still there but that she was leaving. Dont know but I usually pass her on Telfair rd daily but havent seen her in months now. Was told things were much better there now in Savannah. I know I dont see many Drivers for them anymore.
