i gave it my best shot fellows. ten years of this crap. no i am not waiting around any longer for change. let the fleets haul it all cheap as posible. they can hire robots to sit behind the wheel far as i am concerned. when i first started trucking i loved this business now i hate cranking up the truck to leave town. i am not going to sell my truck for a while but i am going to find other work maybe in a maritime occupation. i dont know what yet but i do know i will not be driving anymore. maybe in a few months i will get more money out of my ride so for now it is parked. ten years ago i would have been excited about having a nice truck paid off. now-i am just plain digusted. almost like i wasted ten years but i did meet some good people along the way.

I've been reading a lot of articles lately that claim the second quarter of 1013 is going to turn around for the trucking companies. Shipper groups are worried the good times are coming to an end for them soon. The problem when this happens most of these container trucking companies will not pass that money down unless threatened by losing their drivers. Truckers need to be aware of what's going on around them besides a food bar or talking on the cell phone

it cannot get worse. this will be the last year for me too driver unless i see real change in my money. you have to have rocks in your head to stay in this business because for the hours & hard work the money is terrible. the ones makiing money are brokers & trucking company agents. we do the grunt work. they get the pay.

Maybe if you guys are really tired of cheap freight and less than honest port companies you could network.Trade info with each other on your companies rates and customers. Then approach each others customer-,after increasing the rate by 33%.Bet you will each land some new customers and a modest raise. You will have the initial costs of insurance, scac code, etc.,and it won`t be without some rough spots as you learn the small bits you haven`t had to deal with before, but it can be done.Think about it.REALLY think. You have the power to stop all these not a very nice persons IF you help each other.

we need some regular meeting to attend once a month in virginia. if i had the time to contribute or was a speaker type person i would gladly kick that off. i'm not into the stand up in front of a crowd scene so i leave that job to someone else. my hope is a person or persons will take that role before long. if not the internet can only do so much. until then it's cb mis information time in norfolk.
