just another container hauling company in a sea of thousands. they are out of mountain view,nj. i know a couple guys who were leased there but quit after a month or two. i will try to find out reason why. maybe no work, maybe no pay? hope they are not like big daddy. thats their home terminal state also. big daddy is a good place to stay away from

hello everyone. i'm new here to your forum but have always been interested in trucking. first of all let me start by saying my job position was eliminated with the local company who i had been with for fifteen years. with a small comfortable amount of savings in the bank i had thoughts of applying for my cdl and possibly purchasing a nice truck. it;s something i've always wanted to do so this looked like the opportunity to develop a business plan. the more companies in savannah that i inquired with the more grey areas i realized you have here. i know i'm what you guys may call green to your industry but i'm decent with a calculator. sorry but i really don't see the money to support a one truck operation hauling containers. no matter how many hours you work the balance sheet doesn't seem to add up. it appears to me the more time you devote each week the more cost this operation consumes so that's less money you make to put back into your pocket at the end of the day. maybe i am looking at this from a wrong point of view but so far my figures don't match the expenses or work involved to make a decent living at this.

your right. crime pays better then trucking at the georgia ports. you also receive more respect. better yet if you can draw off social services and get yourself a food stamp card you will be ahead of the game. seriously-you will work yourself silly moving containers and the pay sucks.
