i just want to know for my self what's in store for us? anyone? I went to that teamster meeting a couple saturdays back. today i still don't have any explanation why or what it was about. to me it appeared to be a staged event for a few invited local officials to hear a handful of complaining drivers. that meeting reminded me of the season pilot for a really bad reality show. what does that accomplish for any of us? please explain. is it me or did anybody else get something out of that soap opera? tell me what you gentlemen are planning will not be a repeat performance of that disappointment. if so please don't count on me being at your meeting. i would like to see something positive here right or wrong. the owner-operator trucker is getting screwed from all directions. i don't see anything happening to solve our problems by joining with the teamsters. what really turned me off was not one of them can answer a simple question. those union folk just want us to blindly follow them to the promised land! this was my last dealings with teamsters so if they plan another rally for me i can tell them right now don't bother wasting their time or money.lol

You will find out soon enough what their plan is for all of us. If you want to become a company driver it's all good. If you want to remain an owner/operator trucker, well, not so good...
Their organization "Stand up for Savannah" is not what it seems so stay tuned it's about to get interesting. Remember we clearly have other options but the clock is ticking driver. Savannah is the fourth largest container port in the United States and they want badly to make headway organizing truckers here. Their idea of what we need may not fit the description of what we feel is helpful for the independent trucker. Ownership is not in the teamster vocabulary so beware of smiling union folk who can't answer questions..

i went to that also. a wasted saturday is what i got. the whole thing made no sense except when the guy said we should park our trucks. i dont know who he was but that did not seem to be the teamster position. this meeting was way over billed. maybe i expected to hear some answers from them. that did not happen.
