i have been looking for work. containers looked to be somethng to check out because of short runs. ninety two - dollar five per mile is what i see is norm in savannah. i cannot run the truck for that. i am not buying another tag until i see change. anyone have a better deal? i have a nice w900l which is paid for - not from hauling containers- just got tired of the road but this stinks. how do you make money at these rates? i checked behind a few quotes the last two agents gave me and the mileage is on the short end. at those rates there is no room for mistakes in mileage. no wonder so many are disappointed in this work. one thing there are far to many trucking companies doing same thing in savannah. any suggestions for a good company or is that asking to much?

u got it bub. its' like that at 99% of the companies around savannah. lol with finding a good fit. far to many willing to work outa this port for turnip greens. the only way the money would be decent was if diesel fuel was rolled back to .65 per gallon

I have a couple of trucks with Madaris Transportation ( Chris Busbie ) and they are averaging $1.36 or better per mile. Still not the greatest but it is better than most in Savannah.

It's a crap shoot but like the last poster said he's making better money than most that I see. I keep hearing Evan's average is less than a dollar per actual mile. I don't know how true but you can't operate a truck for that kinda pocket change. After fuel that's not even driver wages. You break something serious and your out or borrow the money for repairs from them until your so deep in dept that you lose your truck anyway.

if everyone went to work for six or seven companies in savannah and left the others the rates would be where they should. we need to wise up. maybe when pigs fly?

i am going to check out madaris transport unless some one else has any better suggestion? without naming names of present company i am about to move my truck after six months. it gets worse each week. i am so tired of fighting to get money owed me and try work same time. if anyone ever opens a decent company that pays truckers right they will run out of applications within an hour.

ASI, Integrated Industries are rip off companies. They embodied the system of the misclassified driver matched with disrespect and forced dispatch. I have affiliation with NY/NJ division, they are a ILA company and that's the problem.
