dot is out n force since monday. i see they are stopping a lot of containers trucks. one driver i spoke with said they checked him twice since monday. i saw him stopped in blitchton on the ramp so when he came into the fuel stop i asked him about it. they have waved me on twice but i pull step deck so looks like they are hot after containers. they had them lined up yesterday. a lot of state police also in this.

they asked for log book first thing. then inspected everything. i got written up for three items. he said they will be paying a visit to several trucking companys in town. for the trouble we put up with the money is not here. i am looking for a local job. after three years of moving containers i have had it with this crap. i can make more money driving dump truck with a lot less hassle plus paid by the hour so goodbye port. i bet a lot more drivers quit soon.

there are a lot of drivers who feel that way. to many eyes on you 24-7 in this work. the compensation is poor for the aggravation. fuel is two thirds of pay if you own the truck and company drivers make less then a 9 to 5 job so we may see a lot more drivers leaving unless money gets much better.
