Okay, I want to know who is the BEST container company in the Tidewater area, ALL things considered. Pay, workload, how they treat the O/O, and size. Length of time in business, etc, etc. This should be interesting, and based on honest responses, may help good companies grow. No "trolling" please. Taking the time to register will help this site and your believability. All replies encouraged, though.

i can tell you stay away from evans, gilco for sure. i know several drivers who were over there with thise two companies who finally had to leave or go broke. i was at btt a few years back. they are no better then hudd. that's another one to leave alone. that was a mistake. same liner service owns both of them. after six months i am shopping around again looking for another company. the company i am with now is starting to have same problem with pay. they cannot seem to pay what's supposed to be confirmed rate on trip. i do not like liars. think they all play games. it's a question of who does it the least. an agent makes or breaks a company. i am looking for one who only has a few trucks on. i am fedup with being lied to every d**n week while trying to collect what's owed me.

I can also tell you a few to stay clear of. TTSI is one as well as Port City. I have leased to both in the past. TTSI is like working for HUDD. The money isn't worth the crap you have to put up with. They have their favorite butt kissers who manage to get loads that pay better. They don't like drivers who can think for them self or question their dispatch. Really they are all alike. I work for a guy now that has six trucks leased on and so far it's fine but we'll see once he expands. You seem to become a number the bigger they get. Next the pay slows and the deductions start. That's when I leave.

Good move oboy@ivorva. Don't forget to add to list on the other page: TTSI, Port City & HUDD. No doubt you have been around and know by now that the placards are temporary stay on the side of the truck. If only drivers would catch on that that's how we ALL are going to make a difference in this industry.
P.S. I really like: "They have their favorite butt kissers who manage to get loads that pay better". Especially: "They don't like drivers who can think for them self or question their dispatch".

Surely there are bound to be some good ones.Nobody ever wants to plug a good deal, right? Im going to mention a locally owned company that I`ve dealt with last year. Everything happened just like we discussed, money right down to the penny and on time. Will be in touch with them in the future,if I need work. Looks like they are growing as well. Penn Transportation. Also talked with a man who says he owns Lo-Lo Express. Appear to be growing as well.
