i am going next meeting too. we will see what the plan is. maybe they have one-maybe they dont?yes the last wanna be leaders were clueless about what to do at this port. the port made the oocva leadership look like the fools they were. only good thing was they had something with owner operator independent drivers assoc.. that is why i stayed active for a time until they got really stupid. at the end they managed to screw that up also.

OK, not being a wise a$$ but a clear cut plan of action is what you guys need quickly. I hope you have that in motion. It's only a matter of time before any collective membership you have now slowly begins to drift away if each meeting is no more than dribble. The attention span of the average driver is not known to last anymore than a half hour or so unless the meeting is rocking the house. Make every second count with vital information which you feel everyone should take away from these meetings and spread throughout the port each time. I hope that each one of you find a middle ground to build upon but I can tell you from experience that it's very hard to make everyone understand the right road map to follow. I've already seen a few comments addressing this forum about the OOCVA group. Don't even go that route if you want to win this battle. That group started out strong but got severely sidetracked on several ego trips along the way. Yes, you're fighting a war of survival out here in this intermodal jungle. You've got one bite at this apple. If it somehow works out a couple of us may soon have the opportunity to attend one of your meetings if not the next. I myself would love to attend one. We'll see..

I think you have already drifted off between the white lines. Survival is staying away B4 you start wondering why there is a next meeting. You should have been in the last, it would had been your first & last.
Think Driver, why do you need group therapy when there is Dr. Phil on TiVo. As for me, I'll invest in some Funny Facebook stocks. Now that's a tip that has earning potential(Price: 62.41 as of April 09).

OOmad, Like you I too am O/O MAD! If THE MESSAGE IS NOT THERE, THEN you are wasting your time. I rather get caught at the ports for 3 > 4 hours, then lend a hand. My time is valuable and I'm pretty sure so is everyone participating at the ports or some so-call meeting. But to my point I rather sacrifice a dray and so should everyone that goes to port.
No Message, No Organization and Funny-Facebook. PLEASE!

i see no plan so far. a lot of talk but for what. please explain what we will do besides have discussions with the port people who don't give a crap. ths is not first dance in virginia port. i like when vit management acts like they never knew we had such problems? where have they been? even stevie wonder can see what the f&*k has been going on for years at the virginia docks. they insult our intelligence with wanting to form a task force. we want answers now. they already know what the problems are. just fix this d**n mess. no excuses. times running out.

Patience 'wheresthebeef', I agreed w/u. It does take some patience and as I said B4 No Message, No Organization and Funny-Facebook:
For Truckers By Truckers GUESS WHO'S HAND FTBT SHOOK TODAY? WORKING ON HAVING THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION SPEAK TO OUR MOVEMENT, IN THE NEAR FUTURE. #JOINUSNOW
They are taking baby steps w/o knowing where they are going with it. If they knew the past, they {For Truckers By Truckers} could possibly see solutions. They are going to waste that man's time and in the process embarrass themselves. Miss opportunity is miss opportunity. And sad thing is that drivers in general pay the price at the ports. Happy sitting, drivers.

yes this port knows we are sitting out here like captured monkeys. how stupid do they think everyone is behind the wheel? now maybe they will give us free port tour and a snack. that should do the trick. make everyone feel like a leader.i hope these guys do not fall for such foolishness. the tidewater trucking association is another bad joke. they claim to represent our interest. how is that? their sick greedy members steal everything they get their hands on from the trucker. we better smarten up soon.

P.jones, with comments like: "an organization to improve driver livelihood among individuals with a common interest", what do you expect. No balloons & no ice cream on their field trip, yeah.
They are filled hope from a so-call 'MOTOR CARRIER TASK FORCE'; What's next turn-around times to improve, wow!
I'll starting to: "BEGIN TO REALIZE THE POWER WE POSSESS! -FTBT" and I'm impressed with: "GUESS WHO'S HAND FTBT SHOOK TODAY? WORKING ON HAVING THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION SPEAK TO OUR MOVEMENT, IN THE NEAR FUTURE"
Can't wait to fulfill my: "MISSION TODAY IS TO TELL AT LEAST 3 OTHER PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS ABOUT OUR MEETING ON 4/26." Please if those three drivers can get back to me here after the meeting & provide me with a summary, I appreciated it. I like to know the what's the message that can't be said on Funny-Facebook or at the last meeting. What can be so important that the expectation of a meeting has to take place of organizing their thoughts instead of 'F-FB' or here on Port Trucker.com. Maybe by then I'll figure how to transform into Optimus Prime.
