yep, another driver face book page. great! sorry but i don't find face book much of a useful a tool. maybe it's just me? i like your site much better however the word needs to continue spread. this port trucker site should be posted at every fuel stop around hampton roads, virginia. how about stick a few leaflets in windshields or in doors like the trucking companies are always doing to us with their worthless crap. it seems to work for them. the more people on here the more everyone can influence the ones who daily drive around confused at the piers.

Sound like someone didn't go to the meeting today (5/31/14). And yes you (glidereide) are on the right track. Is an idea that's long overdue.
Follow The O/O Initiative: have your fellow trucking community drivers come on to the forum. Sign-up drivers. Join the discussion. Be counted. Strength in numbers, voiced as one. Unity!

well so does big daddy have more do with this drivers death then the other container companies? this company is a piece of s#^t. most rates are so cheap here in norfolk that drivers run 24/7 to keep ahead of bill collectors. most fail or become a victim anyway one way or other. big daddy has reputation for screwing their truckers over more then the local average population of sleezy carriers. when the whole group learns to boycott these low ball thieves maybe rates will rise. shutdown this d**n port for three weeks and name some conditions to be met before anyone returns to work and we may see a few results. how? who knows but until the day these companies see virginia truckers mean business it will be same old every day.

Right, twostep. But you are in control if you own your truck. Placards from a company is just a means of revenue if they provide the freight to keep you busy and if you can calculate what you make per miles or for the week. You are not obligated to stay in any one place if they don't provide you with the means to stay busy. Profitable is another thing. Loyalty is NOT for O/O or for business anymore. Look at how CEO's jump around when offer enough money at another company courting them.
So please, be proactive and ignore the man behind the curtain. Puppets and puppeteers is what happening with FTBT, don't be fool. Example: SIMILAR TO FTBT ALREADY EXISTING TEXT NOTIFICATION, THE PORT OF VIRGINIA HAS INSTITUTED A SIMILAR SERVICE, FREE OF CHARGE. PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS WILL GET REAL TIME ALERTS DIRECTLY TO THEIR PHONES IN THE FORM OF TEXT MESSAGES FROM OUR FRIENDS AT VIT. (INSTRUCTIONS TO REGISTER ARE IN THE PIC BELOW). I SIGNED UP, SO SHOULD YOU!
