things are heating up in savanna,ga as we post this. the teamsters union held a successful port trucker rally with hundreds of drivers attending holding signs to announce we are employees. dozens of drivers paraded outside the port of savannah main gate with a huge port trucker banner. there was talk of a forming a strike line but drivers decided against any action not wanting to do anything to jeopardize their position at this time. this teamsters have a large driver support group in place ready for the next event.

Truck65, what planet are you from? Strike ? I saw maybe a dozen drivers plus some kids and a few elderly folk who looked like tourist asking for directions. Hardly what I would call an angry strike crowd or even a crowd at all for that matter. If not for the big Teamster truck parked beside the highway and a couple guys holding up a sign or two on a stick one would think it was possibly a roadside refreshment stand.

i don't believ any sav. drivers are going to join teamsters right away. the demonstration outside port gate number four was very sma;; indeed. considering who called for the rally and what the purpose of it was they were lucky to have the ones who showed. i am happy drivers in sav. have finally realized the teamster union game plan. they have my vote to pack up and leave this place.

I couldn't agreed more with ChickenBox. I have said it all along that we as O/O are NOT able to unionize, so why participate with them? What we can do is organize in a civil fashion. Not like FTBT on Funny-Facebook. - Seriously!

The Automated Truck Driver: Electronic Logs, Speed Limiter, Collision Avoidance System, GPS, Dashcam Recording... Oh yeah, and told to wait at the ports for long periods of time. Know anyone like this? Drivers pay attention to what is becoming before our eyes.
