As a truck driver I do support the 'Larchmont-Edgewater League' community's effort and signed on to the petition at: tinyurl.com/no-more-big-rigs. Management at the ports are not interested in reducing diesel emissions and provide cleaner, healthier air in the region. Do you think that Mr. Reinhart has the best interest of any one community. If he did then drivers would not be sitting at the ports for two to there hours on the average. One recommendation is why not start a second shift at the ports?

I am all for reducing diesel emissions if that means reducing waiting times. No I am not interested if it means forcing us to purchase new trucks like they've done in California. That's just more d**n government regulatory interference in our lives. We don't need anymore of these environmental quacks involved in our business. We do need the port to step up and move our trucks in or out of the gates without more delays. If there were compensation for our waiting times the delays we experience each day would disappear pronto.

Read HR Pilot online: 10/04/14 - posted: It's not just the taxpayers, but truck drivers at a lost from now three ports to sit at; how about the forgotten notion using the appointments system. Have my container on a chassis (fully inspected, of course) and notify me via the new text service for drivers to pick up. It should take no more than 15 to 20 minutes for me to be in and out of the ports, sounds retro and ideal, right. Saves on fuel, cost to the environment and it's productive. Win, win!

Just look at FTBT. = A JOKE! They supported the appointment system that never happen. Now my understanding is that they're in the business of clean Port-A-Potties & empty trash cans. They must be making a difference with over two hundred hits on Funny-Facebook but only about ten or twelve attendees at their meetings.

two hundred hits outa over seven thousand virginia drivers who call on hampton roads ports. not very good participation in my view. either they are headed in direction no one is interested in or virginia truckers dont give $#^!. i think ftbt is driving in circle.

Well at least FTBT is trying to do something.Could be like the majority of drivers whining and b*t@hing without making any effort to cause change. Biggest effort most of our peers make are their comments on facebook or a trucking forum...d**ned few care enough to do anything else...just stroking their "ego" behind a keyboard. Dumbasses

No your are NOT wrong in your effort b Kelly, but what ever happen to the 'Port Delay' issue? That's what happen to the last coalition, they got lost along the way. FTBT is all about Funny-Facebook, the media circus. Great if you're on the site while sitting for two to five hours at the ports. There is only one person running the show and my understanding is he is the problem going forward. You can-not learn from someone who has NOT done this (business) for to long. Let the veterans of the industry talk, give advise and watch the motivation come back. The next few months freight will slow down some but the same congestions will be noticeable. This is an 'US', not an 'I' in the trucking community problem. Still confuse? More to come...

the last coalition turned into a half-wit discount club with the leaders hoping for paying positions at ooida headquarters in grain valley, mo. problem here in eastern virginia is that once a few people get to become leader of a driver assoc. that little taste of micro power goes to their head swelling what brain cells are left undamaged from bouncing around in trucks over at the port.

Also remember carl, the A**-clown director for FTBT has his own agenda.
You can easily read that between the timeline on the Funny-Facebook.
