Teamsters continue not to give up in the west trying to force out the owner-operator model.. They desperately want to make way for their employee unionizing model to take over independent contractor status. In the meantime numbers of strikers dwindle because apparently only a few truckers as happened at several ports in the east are not interested in giving up their right to truck ownership. One would think they would have learned from past mistakes that the independent spirit of truckers is stronger than their union leaderships will to force out the entrepreneur behind the wheel at America's ports..

the teamsters union wants to unionize company drivers not independent truckers so they are looking for a back door way to change the port driver system. this is why the big push is on at ports to remove your independent status. if they can change the law the guy who owns his truck will be history.

True That! It's still the issue of misclassification that owner / operators lease to motor carriers are consider as employees. Don't believe, don't be afraid to ask your TM.
