I live in Hampton, VA. I work out of the ports in Norfolk,Portsmouth,Newport News. Drivers here are fedup with no action no voice. What can we do to start a driver association like you guys have or join this one? Can you help us organize for start up? Not organize the drivers just advice on how to start up. For now please post a simple answer on this board. You don't have to expose any details. Later we will give you our contact information. We may have to wait until after the holidays but we are ready to make something happen. thank you

I think I may see now why so many Virginia truckers are asking for your associations help. Maybe they just need a better road map? I think it's time to act on this. The more ports on board the better. I know a lot of good drivers in that area.

Roughneck, Just hang in there a little longer. This California thing has for now, all our attention. If we lose this one, its going to be very difficult to organize outside of the Teamsters. They know it and we know it. So for now, just buy some time, and we will come a knocking. You will all be informed as to the direction this is all taking. It will be well organized, with-in legal limitations, and benefit the OO's only. That is the only group we hold allegence to and will never divert from that goal of total organization, total protection, and best of all fairness in your industry. You will get paid for everything you do in the future. You will have a fair and equal part in the shipping industry. It will never again be taken, never again be severed. Hang in there.

OK, we all can do that. I have three trucks leased on to two different companies here. I know other Virginia drivers that would participate. Several are already on this forum but remain in the shadows for now. That's where I got the url.

This group appreciates your positon, with only our intentions to make life fair for the OO's, no hidden agenda, but shall be smart in our approach, determined in our goal, and never satisfied until the OO's of this world are treated with the respect and admirations they are due. This battle in California has most of our attentions for now, since it is vital to win, and Teamsters are vital to defeat. Our obligations are better served to stand with both the ATA, and FMC to finalize this problem and resolve to the benefit of all concerned parties. To expose the real reasons the Teamsters have alligned with the California Greens and ports, and to assure the outcome, hopefully in favor of the OO's positions.

I hope thses clowns can stop fighting amongst each other and find a way to work together. Here in the Norf. area there are too many people who want to be chiefs and not enough indians. we need to be fighting the carriers and ship lines and not each other
