The JOURNAL of COMMERCE Trucks on FMC Agenda
November 13, 2008
The Federal Maritime Commission will discuss its next step in the Los Angeles truck case during a closed meeting Nov. 20, the agency announced.
The closed portion of the meeting will also cover possible violations of the Shipping Act by three non-vessel-operating common carriers.
In open session, the commission will discus a terminal cooperative operating agreement at the Port of Oakland, and a case involving complaints against household movers.
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the FMC hearing room at 800 N. Capitol St., Washington.

Oviously, the other concerns are not the OO's business. However the most important factors here deal with the California port problems. That section is closed door and quite frankly with pending litigation, it should be closed door. What scares me is the position of Mr.Brennan being such should have him being eliminated from comment or knowledge of process. He said No, then he should not be able to participate with the decission and position taken by the other two Comissioners. I believe his position is one of support of the California/Teamsters/Port Officials, and should have no consideration during these proceedings. It would only have a detremental effect on the legal process at hand.
