Did anyone see 60 Minutes last night?

Everything I been telling you all for 5 months was contained on 60 Minutes last night, (i.e.), the secondary bubble in the wings. You have not witnessed the behind the scenes problems awaiting all of you. Distressed markets, second wave of mortgage flops, credit card crash. $800 billion will look like chicken feed by the time this is all over. China will own the U.S.A. at flea market prices. You will be all working for the Chinese Government, while our lovely Congress and Senate work to solve an auto industry domed to fail.

Folks not meaning to be out of line here and knowing these statements are not in conformity with this site, I take this opportunity to tell all of you, you better get your house in order, get plenty of ammo, camera's watching your stuff, and guns to defend it all. Reduce your exposures to banks and lending institutions now, save all the money you can get your hands upon, sell what you can ,and keep the rest. Its going to get ugly, before it gets any better. I estimate we are only 10% at the most through all of this mess. Stop anymore bail out money, and work with your elected officials to get the 800 billion back now. Let the cards fall where they might. If not we are all heading toward socialism, and waving bye bye to capitalism. Freedom will be the ability to get a haircut and thats it. Our government is now documenting everything in our economy. You see it now in terms of TWIC, but that is not even a pimple of the steps they are taking to control. Somewhere along the line will be emergency steps taken to collect and or document each and every firearm. Never allow them to do that. I told each and every one of you for the last 8 months what is happening here. Not one of you has ever acknowledged what I say is anywhere near the truth. I told you five months ago that oil will hit $50/barrel, I told you five months ago that our home values will hit rock bottom, and I am now telling you unless you prepare for all that is about to come, you will be the ones left stealing my stuff instead of defending your own stuff. Its all human nature. I will even inform you as to what it is called on a psychological basis, "Sweet lemons, sour grapes". Sort of you lie to yourselves, I want it, I cannot have it, so I did not want it anyway, followed up by taking what you want, not matter the consequences or lack thereof. I am an optimist. I never look for the bad in anything. However I am also a realist and know for a fact , its all just around the corner. In two years, our whole world will change.

This trucking problem is apparent to your own industry, but its happening to investment banking and all other industry. Total control by the government is its objective, all being done under the guise of economic failure. The more it gets crazy , the more control they will ask. More control , less freedoms. Hand in hand they go.

I am afraid what will happen if this second housing wave hits. Very few will survive this business next year unless rates & freight increase.

just made the last payment on my 2002 truck, thank GOD! the tag runs out in march. i won't renew the tag if i see no improvement by that time.

joek, Man hang in there if you can. The ones who do survive will be the ones who will get the good rates. If you are already on the brink of going under, then let it go as you have indicated, but if you can hold on, do such. I will give you a little story, told to me when I was just about 12 yoa, but an old guy named Mr. Wilson. There was a man named Buck Aaron, who owned a little grocery store in South Baltimore. During the depression, he remained open, he sold things to others and often traded food for their possessions. If you did not have anything to give and was a good customer before, he would keep you in groceries. He would make the father work to unload a truck or repair his plumbing, whatever. He would give out live chickens to his customers to raise in their yards. They would care for them, he would give them feed , and at the end he would take 2/3 and give the family the other 1/3 of the chickens. If you needed gas money to go to work, he was there to help. If the kids needed clothing, he was the man. So basically he created an economy without real money. Barter was his game. That store lasted until I was about 15 but was in business from about 1921 to 1969. When he died, his estate was worth about 2 million dollars, yet he lived like a pulper. So don't think for one moment this government will kill America. Yes, it will cripple us, but never kill us. The only politician I have any respect for is named, Colburn, who I believe is from Oklahoma. The rest are just a bunch of bastards in business suits, out for themselves, and all were the catalyst that caused all the problems we now face. Big business and lobbyist were their customers, and seldom did they represent the small business, or their constituents. Greed was/is their objective. We shall all make it here. What I say now is save that money til it squeals uncle. Pay off those credit card bills, and wait it all out. We are loosing our ability to build. We need kids with the knowledge to fix a car, brick layers, electricians, plumbers. We don't need investment bankers anymore. That is what a false economy was built upon. Actually education in the wrong direction is no education at all. Our focus should be on employment, and not positions. I never sent one of my children to college. I told them from the very beginning, you want to be a doctor, yes, I will foot the bill, you want to go and drink each day and party , you will pay that bill. My one daughter is becoming a nurse and she is paying for it all herself. Single mother, living with me, but she is making her own path in life. So the American dream is alive and will still flourish, no matter how our elected officials try to harm it.

hey thanks, i am not going to get out of the business but will park my ride if i have to til freight pays what i think it should. we are in for a rough & bumpy 2009. the first few months i hear are going to seperate the 'haul it for anything crowd' from the leaders so i will be waiting & ready to roll. when the shippers decide service rather then price is the new game i will be there to haul there freight.
