You might like what I have to say, or quite the opposite, regret even contacting me, but what you will walk away from me with, is a honest answer about a delivery chain now in dire straights. Do you really believe its not the Government against us? Think again. Its planned , orchestrated and working well for the time being. Think Union's are a dirty word? Think again. Its the only means you have of saving your livelihood. Can't unionize? Your an independent contractor. Think Again. Laws can never be changed to allow such? Think Again. Remember one very important fact about the American Way of Life. Unions got you to where you are today, and now with their decline in the last 20 years, where are you at now? Working for pennies on the dollar. Your company has got you right where they want you, cold and hungry. Individually you have no clout, no meaning, incidental at best. FTC is in the large companies pockets, and loving each and every minute of it. They exist to protect commerce? My Butt they do. They are there to suck you dry. Unions stabilize rates, unions force companies to provide retirement benefits, health and welfare, and best of all provide you with a living wage, keep jobs in the U.S.A. and not given on a silver platter to China and Mexico. My friends, there is strength in numbers. Told to you by a guy who once deplored unions. Not anymore.

Thanks, HardTimeTrucker, and appreciate the opportunity to give some advice, lend a willing ear, and hopefully give proper instructions related to the problems. Wil Rogers once said," I never meet a man I did'nt like". Well, I know he was only refering to truck drivers when he said it. Gentleman and ladies, you have many people using you folks as toilets. If it ain't the boss, its the dispatcher, if not the dispatcher, its the dock forman, or pier clerk, or M&R guys, or coops/cops, four wheelers, repair shop owners, road service tecs, or best and not last the tax man. Oh, yes, the tax man. Everyone wants a piece of the truckers ass/pocketbook. In lifes bowl of cherry's , you ge the pits. It never has to be that way. Believe me there are good company's, good dispatchers, and good everything else. You need to position yourselves , be on top of your game, and keep your cool. I had one driver and I am not going to mention his name (Milton Miles). lol, who I loved and always wanted to hang around with him. We went to a meeting one day, and the guy heading the discussion , after hearing him speak, asked if he was a professor or lawyer. He said no , just a truck driver. So guys and girls , you are all lawyers/professors, with the added ability to shift a gear and back in a load. Don't sell yourselves short. Ask questions, confirm delivery dates and times, confirm appointments, and directions, get load weighted, confirm dimmensions, keep up your logs,and before any of this confirm its pay. Its actually a simple business , if you do it right. Like any good lawyer, don't ask the questions unless you already know the answers.
