Last time I talked to Jim, said he had bought an old truck to work city and checking things out for himself. Not seen or heard from him sense. Thought he would be around. Do not have a clue where he lives or if this is a little on the serious side. Just called his cell phone, only can get a voice box receiving calls, surprised it is not full.

For those of you who don't know, I have some bad news. Jim is in Savannah's hospital in serious condition . He has a an abcess that ruptured in his neck and the infection within has spead into his brain , neck , and is starting to move through out his body. He collapsed last Tuesday (1-13) and has since been in the ICU unit .He is reportedly in a septic coma. I talked with his wife and things don't look good. He has no medical insurance and things look bleak all the way around. I am going to start a petition to get donations from drivers in the Norfolk area. Jim is a great advocate for the struggle of the owner operator and company drivers as well. His experience and generosity and dedication are beyond comparison of anyone else I have met in my 43 years on this Earth. He is in my wife and my prayers and so is his family. I think everyone who has been blessed with his friendship should take a moment , bow their head , and pray that GOD holds Jim in his arms and does what is best for JIM.

For those of you who are not familiar with Mr.Jim Stewart, he is Mr. Owner Operator. Yep, the one and only , all starting with capital letters. Every breath he takes, is for the benefit of all owner operators everywhere. He is the epitome of a hard working, kind, generous, thoughtful man. A man among men. It shall be the saddest of days until he is up and running. Our task here is much more complicated without his participation. I not only ask for prayers, but his whole family will suffer without your help. He never asked for anything from anyone. I admired him so much , I personally left retirement to participate in this cause, certainly for the owner operators behalf, but done only for this mans request. No other has turned a wheel, pulled a tarp, or ran cans, that was more in tune with the owner operators needs and support. I ask that all owner operators, put their lights on today in a show of solidarity to our cause, he most graciously accepted our burdens. Please understand what I am saying here, you might of never heard of Mr. Stewart, but believe me when I say this , none of our position here would of never came about without his leadership. Jim, I hope and pray, the Lord sees fit to let us keep you, I ask this in the name of all truckers everywhere. God Bless Mr. James Stewart.

AMEN, Pete! Jim is the BEST! All our prayers are going out to Jim and his family. I've never met Jim in person, but have talked to him and emailed him constantly since this cause started. Jim has always made me feel like I'd been his friend forever. I pray he makes it, because men like him are needed in this world. Remember, Jim is a fighter and what better cause than recovering from this illness to be with his family again. All my thoughts and prayers are with Jim and his family

Good News from Savannah! I just heard from Ron Carver that Jim is doing better! He is now out of ICU and in the critical care unit at St. Josephs Hospital. Jim is sitting up a little and talking. Jim is looking at a 3 to 4 week stay at the hospital still, for his recovery. I'll get the address and post it online in case anyone wants to send a card or something.

praise the Lord. thanks for the call Paul. I was on the computer when you left the message. I am still working on the Bank account for Jim. I am also going to try and raise other funds from various groups Jim has contact with here in the Hampton Roads area. This is the best news I have recieved in a very, very long time. Our prayers are still with Jim and his family for a speedy recovery... Paul and cathy Barham

We love you Jim, I mean exactly that , we love you my man. Best wishes and take all the time you need recovering. If we can do anything for you , just email. You made my year. Get well, stay well and forever be well. Your buddy Pete P.S. I never was a religious man, but I made an exception for you. First time in my life my prayers were answered.

I heard from Shree today and Jim's condition is daily getting better. She says, it will be weeks of conditioning, before he gets back to his normal self and even then the doctors won't know that being crazy is Jim's normal self. So they might keep him a couple extra weeks of testing. LOL Folks she said nothing but I know they need help. Just put yourself in their position, no income for almost three months to come, no real savings, no means of making money. Remember he gave it all he had to keep all you owner operators going. All hear fought every single day to keep your message going. He sent letters to politicians, newspapers, all our trucking interest, and FMC. Never took a dime for all his services. You owe him something and they need help. Do it now not later. Send them $25.00 who cares about $25.00 , yet if a hundred send them that amount , it will help quite a bit. Get back on here and pledge money and please help collect from other drivers , knowing his plight and condition. Do something for Jim, he has done wonders for you and you paid nothing so far for all his help. Please , please help, Thanking you all in advance, Peter
