every one of these port terminals could do a better job but we don't cost them anything like their dock workers do. this means they have no interest in fixing any delay problems that affect us until the shipping line customer complains.

When the Drivers finally grow a set of balls and stop running like a fool all night just to get to the Customer after having spent the entire day waiting at the port for the load maybe then we will see some change. But as has been repeatedly stated on this Forum we need a sure change in the way that we are treated as not only Drivers but as People. When at the very moment that we arrive at the Port the intentional abuse of us begins it is amazing the lengths that the ILA will go to having to avoid actually assisting someone that is not ILA. I know from personal experience that after having to spend an entire day at Horizon / Blount Island waiting on a Box to be flipped I went home when I finally got it at 4:30 pm 8 straight hours. After arriving to pick up what was supposed to be already on wheels ready to go. Load was supposed to be in Black Mountain NC at 8 the following Morning. Instead at 8 I was just leaving from the Fuel Stop at the Wilco at exit 82 in Bowman SC. I took my break like the Log Book said I should after all the Company said that we are to run it legal. The next time I went to pick one up that was supposed to be ready the Dispatcher was on the phone before I even made out there assuring the load was ready.

great post driver. wharf rats are treated more humane than we are. that's amazing because we control 99% of all cans that go to the customer unless they have a rail spur.even then most rail is hauled by truckers from the ship before the train can began the trip. i don't understand why so many truckers can't make this connection. these slim balls that treat us this way depend on us in the end to move their customers freight?

While it is just a small Port I have always enjoyed the Port of Fernandina. As I have already stated it is just a small place but always a pleasant experience.

yeah now is not the time to strike anything. not enough shipping work to mount any kind action. must wait until time is right but then only if have prepared good plan not just go off at will over stupid reason. also strike should involve more than one port to screw up moving ships to another area like they hve done in past.
