My first experience at the Georgia ports will now be my last. That's it I'm done, you can take me out. I don't know how you boys do it. I'll never complain about Charleston again(maybe not as much)because this port you have is ridiculous. the one driver wasn't kidding about it being a "Redneck Carnival!" I can't think of a better name for that Garden City terminal.

I'VE BEEN TO CHARLSTON PORT AND I DO ENJOY GOING THERE,I FEEL THEY MUCH BETTER ORGANIZED THAN GARDEN CITY PORT, BUT AS G.P.A. BEING A REDNECK CARNIVAL, I PERSONALLY NEVER HAD A PROBLEM GETTIN ALONG WITH I.L.A., OR THE PORTS EMPLOYEES, YEA THEY ARE A LITTLE DIFFERANT PEOPLE BUT ONCE YOU GET TO KNOW THEM AND THEY SEE YOU IN THE PORT MANY TIME THEY DEVELOPE A FRIENDLY AND COMMON GROUND TO HELP YOU, EXPEDITE YOUR MISSSION IN AND OUT OF THE PORT. I GUESS AFTER ALL THEY JUST DOING THEIR JOB. I HOPE NEXT TIME YOU IN THE GPA IT WILL GO BETTER FOR YOU.. GOD BLESS

I don't think this poster was talking about the ILA. I believe he is referring to the port in general. It's a confusing mess even for those that work out of there. I'm hoping somehow we can bridge the gap between a lot of the truckers and the ILA because the port loves nothing better than to pit each of us against each other over issues that the port could correct if they had an incentive to do so which at this time they don't. Just as long as it's not costing the GPA anything they don't care to fix the problem. If one day truckers actually realized the power we have as a group that would change.

the gpa upper management has been the major problem not the workers although some are clueless. this same crap has gone on for the past seventeen years while this port has grown into a super port with bad decisions made in the field of operation. looks like it's headed in the very same direction with foltz now in command  |

2011 Savannah port management still clueless or could it be we have about as much say as a wharf rat? YUP, truckers are not even on the list of human species according to GPA bosses. lol receiving respect at this facility gang.
