BIG DADDY DRAYAGE had to pay out over $90,000 dollars this year in an out of court settlement to New Jersey truckers for violating their rights under federal leasing law. This is not the kind of company you want to go work for driver. The people who manage their terminals are no more trust worthy than the crooks they have running corporate headquarters. They will put you out of business before you can collect what they steal from your settlement check each week. BIG DADDY needs to be boycotted by drivers at the ports.

What ever happened to Bobbi Mullis with Big Dummy Drayage? What a thief. These people have put a screwing on just about every owner operator who has ever leased with them. Of course they can't do it without full cooperation of drivers who won't take them to court. I hope Mullis gets what's coming.

NO doubt about it. With the complaints I continue hear from their drivers this company must really SUCK. I certainly wouldn't lease anything to them. It's amazing how they keep suckering more owner-operators into working for them.. Does anyone know of any driver lawsuits against them?

I'm sure there are many others out there pending. Another good reason to steer clear of these dogs. Once they steal money it never ends...

Well it seems the Norfolk Va location is now gonna hold checks until atleast 3pm . apparently the owner ops . are going home as soon as they get their checks and this sorry assed company cant get their containers moved. Hmmm , seems like if they consider the drivers as independent contractors , then those contractors should be able to do what they want with their own d**ned trucks . as far as I see it , pay the drivers to bobtail and maybe they will want to work.I for one refuse to bobtail one way for free , fight the tunnel traffic for 1 to 2 hrs then sit in line at the piers for another 2 to 4 hrs just to get $50.00 for a one way move . Just an opinion ...lol

well, here is an update on the Portsmouth Va terminal. The idiot who is running the terminal is letting what once was a decent place to work turn to craap .one dispatcher quit and took a job somewhere else and now corporate is seeing who really carried the Portsmouth terminal. one dispatcher recently hired thinks he is smart enough to hide the fact that he is drinking on the job, and the female dispatcher they have thinks she knows every d**n thing there is .

I have been working for Big Daddy for 7 months and don't recognize the company I work for from the one described here. They have never cheated me that I am aware of and I check my settlements every week. They are paying 29% fsc presently. I don't know what the "real" fsc is or even if there is such a thing. I gross from 2500 to 3500+ a week and could usually get more if I wanted to. They pay 50 hazmat, 50/hr detention pay, 25 stopoff pay, 50 overweight pay. I happy. I think a lot of you guys that post on these threads have no idea what your talking about because you've never worked for a lot of these people you bad mouth. Read your lease before you sign it and then expect to be asked to follow the terms. Also expect them to follow the terms.

most every company here i see badmouthed deserve the boot one way or another. i have been working containers for twenty years. this business gets worse each year. at least i have managed to keep clear of the bad ones so i have been somewhat lucky over the past several years. fifteen years ago i did have twenty eight hundred dollars stolen from me by a company which closed the doors and left the area. they reopened at another port location just like nothing ever happened. we did manage to go to that port and let drivers know what was up before they could do same thing again. others were not so lucky with the company. some road drivers averaged losing ten thousand dollars each while the company kept urging them to continue running by advancing them more fuel along with a few bucks. in the end many of them bankrupted because they were living paycheck to paycheck anyway. what you are seeing in some of these post are different locations for the same company which bring different results determined by who the agent in charge is at that location representing that company. if these companies were so concerned about their reputation they wouldn't continue ignoring what a bad agent is doing to the drivers in that area. an agent makes or breaks a company but some companies allow their agents a free hand to steal because that agent is making them a great deal of profit. the corporate office is just as guilty as the slimy agent they support by turning a blind eye to the activities taken place under their company name. i blame drivers for not taking it further then griping about it. drivers should prosecute or at least call the fmcsa hot line to report illegal activities. i don't let people get away with cheating me out of money. no one should. they know that 99% of truckers will get mad but do nothing to the same people stay in business. bi daddy was one of the companies which got caught in the act. that's easy to find to find out about. it was a matter of public record. maybe they have learned their lesson or maybe they are being more careful. that remains to be determined.

I am one of the owner ops who have been taken by Big Daddy Drayage. This Company as well as E Transport out of Jax, Fl need to have their doors shut. I worked and the more I drove the less I got until I was owing/paying these 2 Companies to haul their loads, at the end I was so far in the hole and got out and was bringing home about 150-250 week. Hmmmm never have I made that little and drove so hard . They all said the same thing its your truck, I got it looked at and even did the average and it still didn't add up. They would act like they got mad at the customer for loading heavy but in the long run they bid low and paid us barely anything. KEEP CLEAR OF THESE 2 COMPANIES!!!!!

Anybody know what the scoop on this Big Daddy company is? The name itself makes me have second thoughts about leasing on but do they pay well or are they another (screw the trucker) type company? Buddy they will screw you big time I dont know about the other terminal but the one in Jacksonville, Fl they sure as hell do.

big daddy will cause you to loose every thing the talked one of my drivers into running when he was out of hours then fired him because he got a log book violation. not to mention the money they have screwed me out of. its bad when your truck is paid for and you still go in the hole. how do you run 2000 miles and get a check for 200.00dollars on one truck and 15 dollars on the other [/ My question exactly. I was running my truck and had to park it because my paychecks were 150-250 a week and every week they would tell me it would get better and better freight and money and I almost went Bankrupt with them.

cubans hard working, run their ass off,get by on less money. many are easy to manipulate because they are good heart, trusting people. big daddy is like having dreaded terminal disease . if you don't die from their infectious management then you lose everything when go down. i was looking at long list of registered complaints. why the government has not shut down these crooks is very sad indeed.

maybe we should start filing liens against some of their property. i did this once in south carolina. boy got results real fast. paid me in full before i signed off on court papers. their yard had a partner deal and home office went bananas when credit was checked. we have to game them just like they do us.
