if you are so smart , why do you need to ask others where to take your equipment

xxxtrucker , if you run your company like you run your mouth , then I am sure most drivers leave you real quick. Ok, this gets old after a while guys. How about you two give it a rest and get on with business. Don't we already have enough problems trying to make a decent living here at the ports?

XXXXXXXXXXX if you want to fix the problems in the port how bout joining the Motor Truck Association?? They together have 1 voice that the Port listens to. The Port is merely a small piece of this confusing puzzle..Your ILA are the ones you need to talk to about their "slow downs" because their brothers do not have any work..The managers at the port only oversee what the ILA do but can't correct them they must follow UNION protocal..Blaming the Port without blaming the ILA is a one sided gripe. The Port listens if you have 1 voice not 10,000 screaming obcenities!!The nonsense of striking the port was a JOKE that was some teamsters strategy (SORRY *ggal* STRIKING US PORTS WAS NOT TRUE TEAMSTERS STRATEGY/-HARDTIMETRUCKER-) to take over and get us bent out of shape so they could move in......The dues to join are a write off on your taxes--just an FYI. In the end professionally spoken words are well taken!!!

The problem with joining the ATA or any local motor carrier association is most of your membership are the same ones screwing over truckers in the first place. The majority of intermodal carriers or their agents ignore leasing regulations and scheme to relieve (more like steal) as much money as possible from the pockets of truckers who haul their customers freight. Your also wrong about the ports. They too a large piece of the confusing puzzle depending on which port being talked about depends on how big a piece of hands on confusion they really control. True most ports are landlord ports but still maintain control of their vendors in many different ways. Many claim their port authority has no responsibility shifting the blame elsewhere-just like blaming truckers now for this fictitious dirty air (to cover their own incompetent ass), if anything a product of extended time idling because of lack of enough staff, lift equipment, operators, or road worthy chassis equipment pre-inspected ready to hook up. No one I know is interested in joining the Teamsters because they have made it known their current leadership is out to destroy the O/O with their clean truck program. That would be about as foolish as signing up for your local motor carrier membership expecting your leadership to enforce the "Truth-n-Leasing" regs

I have joined local groups before , and each one has thought they are doing what is best. Trying to help someone is not the issue . The current group in this area has a totally different agenda from what I have seen myself and heard. I am not interested in the least in their direction or goals they wish to reach. I have met with some Savannah people and will gladly meet with people from New York / New Jersy. This group here seems like they only want what is best for them ,and , NOT the industry as a whole which is what I seek. I know any decisions that are made and put into place not only effect us now, but future generations of drivers. As far as people attacking my character and my beliefs, the can all take their opinions and shove them. I am trying to better myself and those who follow down the same road I am currently on , as in , running containers into and out of these ports.

The Virginia Ports should only be concerned with the Virginia Ports duhhhh we are in direct competition with Savannah ny and nj. XXXXXXXX is right you should XXXXXXXXXXX your bitterness and blaming only seeps into the future truckers palletts and they are instantly discouraged! Fixing things takes 1 voice to be heard and it is not yours! I bet you were one of those carrying a sign and shouting at the port gate like a fool! ATA is way out of your league!!You fail to join the TMTA because you are one of those that hang in the shadows with a screen name and grip! Show your face, act like a professional and be heard- Our concerns with how this Port operates are important, They do listen, Feedback is very important if you present it at the appropriate forum. These ports have survived without you for ions. I am sure they need all of our trucks but threatening strike is not the answer. Nor is giving up! Attend- voice-and follow up- Know how business works and participate! Ask your questions to the powers that operate the Port--Oh if you need to know who they are you can check that on VIT.ORG and at the TMTA meetings--They always attend when invited! And how many times have you returned a chassis with a flat or damage and put it in the lot for one of us to get stuck at M&R with? Yea thats what I thought- Do not be afraid to admit we are part of the problem also! It is not fair if we don't admit it! You are XXXXXXXXX who lays blame and never accepts it- Good luck in Savannah or NY XXXXXXXXXXX!!!

This category is about good companies/ bad companies. Cut the personal BS on this forum out now. Post names of companies here starting a new thread for each one company. If you like certain companies or have a problem with them use this forum to warn others of their treatment of you or drivers that you know. Sure there are still good companies out here but sadly very few of them compared to the bad apples. I have in the past and continue today to have dealings with many motor carriers along with their local agents. We're not interested in what any motor carrier association has to say about rating their own members, only drivers who have to deal with these folk on a daily basis are invited to post the real truth here.

Look at most of Shortcircuts posts. Down at the bottom of the post you can see where he has edited most of his posts!
I guess he is trying to think of something better to say....
The only time you see that is when someone changes or edits there posts....
Think about what you want to say, and stick to it!!!!

it's too bad that your brain is NOT as big as your mouth. You are not worth the wasted energy to even argue with. This site is to discuss issues on the ports and what can be done to correct them . when you grow and and develop some testicles and want to talk face to face come find me, I am out here every day trying to make a living and listening to fools like you crying on the CB. Until then , I will help those who want to be helped and talk with those who can carry a grown up, intelligent conversation , unlike you.

It is very obvious that the fool running his mouth about Shortcircut and is stirring up nothing but negativity has a brain about the size of a rabbit's thingy, and probably his is that small too. He hides his identity and does nothing but shoot off at the mouth. maybe he would do better on his knees in the mens restroom at the local truckstops since he is so full of s#*t . waste your time at the other site , this is for people who want to try to change the problems drivers face on the ports , not listen to your nutless crying self.

Got that right confused trucker. My belief is we are underpaid MANIPULATED EMPLOYEES. This thing we defend as independent owner-operator seems to be a pipe dream. Got the big wheels in govt saying they got to get rid of us because of our junk equipment, not figuring we are contracted to truck agents underbidding each other for freight and can not maintain our equipment and feed the family with the crumbs we agree to work. We appearantly have not been able organize. Denied (legally by our own government) right to unionize, hiring hall sounds good, but crap, Hardtime is not getting enough support to accomplish this--so far.
