Gilco Trucking Co. Inc. - Portsmouth, VA is another local thief. Please remember their name for your sake. Their ownership has a long candid history of stealing money from the owner-operator trucker in the Hampton Roads area.

Owner-Operators that post in anger, 8 years after the fact, as this Sandra Tyson did, completely fail to state the facts.
Unable to drive her own truck (disqualified) she came to Gilco for help. Her truck worked 7/17/2002 until 9/12/2002
she only paid $50 toward her accident reserve. She made $10,977.00 for 2 months and quit without notice after her driver tore up the glad hands on a trailer. Gilco was billed and had to pay the bill, The customer did not get his load( service failure) and her driver never reported he was not delivering. He quit without notice?? She spent her money before payday and failed to realize you can only spend your money one time! And Gilco Virginia is a local thief ? Long history of stealing? Would it be appropriate to disclose why she was disqualified ?? to discredit her word? Gilco has never been in the business of skimming paychecks and did not in this case. As a business owner what were we suppose to do? After court proceedings the judge said she was ridiculous for even considering she had money due to her. We only used her $50 and went out of pocket to pay the rest!

this company was a piece crap fifteen years ago. i see some things in this business never change. they did you a favor driver. the management back then used to steal from the drivers settlement checks weekly with bogus deductions.

gilco is a sick joke here in tidewater. a waste of time to fill out the paperwork. i worked for them long enough to find these people will steal your money. good advice would be to stay away like other drivers say.

OK I was asking if anyone knew anything about Gilco: and that was after i was told i had a position (just checking before going to work in case their a bunch of people who couldn't put the ball in the cup with a string to put it nicely) and guess what..........they can't put the ball in the cup! I gave them my info, filled out the app and was told no prob. this should only take 24-36 hours. Five days later i called and asked whats up? whats going on? and was told "it's all good, should be able to move foreward with no prob. we'll call you in the morning.........no call. Waited another day and called again, "Still tying up loose ends but it will be squared away by tomorrow"..........Nope, no call. Then about day 14 (by this time there's no way I'm working for these idiots but was humoring myself) I called back to see whats going on and Lori who handles the apps asks "are you going to use one of our trucks?, I say Yes, she said no problem our equip. is in good condition we'll talk tomorrow. Nope Never heard from her or the boss man that personally told me they were looking for drivers, wow. These people are complete morons who have no idea what being a professional is! Stay away from them, I'm surprised they can read and write. Their unprofessional and completely have no concern for prospective employees and will give you the %$#@ run around. Do you really want to work for idiots like this? Don't believe the BS about how much you can make with them, their clearly concerned with only themselves not their drivers!

it's always been how much gilco can make(steal)off their owner-operators. these jackasses running this company are thieves so if your willing to hand over your money to them this is the outfit to lease on with. this gilco agency used to belong to shirley roebuck a professional thief. maybe she still has something to do with gilco or maybe her worthless daughter does. they still are a sh^t company. like a spider lurking in the shadows waiting on the next victim. some drivers have to find out the hard way while others are too stupid to realize that they're being screwed until the truck is repossessed!

Well the truth of the matter is after reading all the posts from both sides, it would appear you GILCO has had a reputation problem for some time. Instead of spending your time here making yourself look worse why not prove it on the street. Start paying what you say and treating your drivers fairly, give them the rate at least their portion, but the law says you will tell them the full rate so they can be sure they are being paid appropriately. But if you do that then they will know if they are being cheated or not. The big word is trust do the right thing and people will back off. Instead you spend time on here looking to see what people say and you attack them. If it's only one or two most of us have been around awhile and realize that. But when we see you respond by attacking them it makes you look bad. Just do something most Co don't do and be honest and pay what you say. Stop with the BS and do what you say. It's really not that difficult. And oh I hope you have a very nice day.

The rates are not the issue with Gilco , getting paid is . also in reguards to the former driver that Gilco is slamming , I know her , and I know Gilco management and I know how they screwed the driver in question as well as other who passed through their company years after .Every so called pro_gilco statements are all false

these people just f&^k#d me also.i'm done with them as of a month ago. is there any honest trucking companies out here at the port that we don't have to count every dime of our money behind. i can't believ the uncontrolled stealing that goes on. when caught they act like it was just a small mistake or somehow it's our fault. work all week and then have tp chase after the check to make sure they have not deducted a s#$t load of bogus miscellaneous charges. they know they can get away with screwing 75 % of the truckers who work for them without a peep becuase most don't bother to keep up with their money owned.

I worked for this company longer they I should have, They lie, take your money, or give you a loan and then treat you like you owe them world! Trips will be kept off the board for other driver's the better paying one's. I have to say Shirley was a tough cookie to work for but she was honest and followed through got it done. Since her lazy daughter has taken over it went down hill from there,she will lie through her teeth right to your face and pretend she cares about you once you confront her. Any issues with your pay she blames the office staff. Stacey not only treated the driver's like S&^% she treats her office personal the same way, nobody is good enough in her eyes. This is a Sh&# company to work for. Stay away!!
