My fellow O/O bud called me and said Both of these companies have a hard time with math. They are sister companies out of Baltimore. Pinnacle steals drays or changes the rates and claims Baltimore messed up. But you never get your money. Cowan forgets to pay you for your runs. And if you leave, they have a clause in the lease that gives the Agent the power to clean you out of your Escrow as well as your settlements. Pinnacle is on W Telfair and Cowan is off Telfair rd. If you are working for them and plan to leave, Fill your tanks b4 handing in the card. Dont be fooled by their swagger.
I only hope and pray the new Broker bond shuts down scum like these companies as well as others here in SAV that operate like these. Peace out!

Cowan in Sav is family run. The family gets the loads first. The O/O gets the scraps. Kinda like Big Daddy Drayage. If it gets slow, your outta there.  |

I have found the roumors about Cowan systems to be far understated. I worked at the Chesapeake location for just over a year and found out that their business practices have much , MUCH to be desired.

I have been with Cowan Systems for 8 years now. The safety side is tough, but dealing with DOT they have to be in order to protect themselves as well as the driver. If you leave owing them money, then of course they are going to get reimbursed. Cowan has the work (for those who WANT to work), and treats all their operators/terminals equally. I have always been paid on time and compensated for the work I have done. I left the company one time, and I did receive my escrow money, every penny owed to me. I came back and that was the best move I could have made.

Im told Cowan in SAV has Officially moved from Telfair Rd over the Thanksgiving Holiday. There is a rumor that they are rooming with another company in SAV because O/O read our postings and chose not to put their trucks there. Cheap freight, low FSC and only 1 way. Good Job Guys!! Band Together!

most time trucking company agents are the problem. if these companies who claimed to do right would monitor their agents than we would have less problem. many companies plain don't give crap as long as the agent is producing moves. i don't understand why some of the biggest crooks have the largest driver following. there can't be this many truckers who don't look at their bottom line or is there? maybe these guys just wanna travel like tourist  |

Cowan is not rooming with anyone and actually has a really nice place including a 3 bay shop. I am not sure where you are get your information from but driver you need to check the facts before you go spreading more rumors, ride by and check it out for yourself! Cowan is a great company to work for. I have not been beat out of any money and we do not do one way freight any more, haven't in over a year. The rates are better now than they have ever been. Not sure what kind of issue you have with Cowan/Pinnacle but with the rumors you are spreading, it all sounds like a bunch of BS to me. I have been with Cowan to long to know better.

u can plaster lipstick on a pig but it doesn't hide the fact it's a pig. they're just like the rest. rates still are a joke. that's why i moved on to a smaller local carrier that shares what the customer billing is & who doesn't care about moving 150 cheap loads a day at discount rates.

This person obviously doesn't deal with this group down in the Norfolk area then. " An out house is an out house" no matter what color it is painted , and the group down here are a bunch of floating turds in the bottom of the crap hole !

I worked for them (cowan) and I can tell you that they will clean you out. They will take everything you have and laugh about it. To the writer that stated he has been with them for 8 years, you must be related to them. And to Ralph, (white KW) I hope they never do break it off in your butt like they have to so many other people. The bad thing is Baltimore will back them up on taking you to the cleaners. Take the advise of a lot of drivers and stay far far away from this company.
