The dirty bastards figure on the national fuel average currently $3.23 per gallon. We have given our customers in their rate confirmations a fuel chart that when prices are between certian fuel costs, a certian percentage is added to the base rate. For example if the billing rate is $600 x 20%=$120.00 that is what you should get in addition to your base pay!

there reply is the different steamship lines pay different rates. In other words the steamships are setting the rates? I thought it was standard across the industry

nothing is standard anymore. most big customers decide what they want to pay to move their cans. anyone can open a trucking company and cut the rates charge or not charge a fsc. what does the company care about fuel prices .it's our trucks that burn diesel. doesn't cost them anything for diesel to operate a phone, computer, office trailer, parking lot or a few rental spaces. they can leave your fsc to the customer for an extra perkk to get their lds. there is no standard on any of this.

I love these companies who take a percentage of our FSC. Of course the rest don't bother tell you when they steal or don't collect the FSC. Why should they? We're the ones fueling the trucks.

There are only a few doing that now. They look at other ways that are not so obvious to siphon off your money on payday
