they pay around $550.0 atlanta & back. that's about same as others.atlanta from savannah & back to port should be no less then $800.00. all this work is cheap. just figure cost of diesel to atlanta alone is around $370.00 not counting any other truck expense or making yourself a few bucks. i don't know if i will even renew tag on my truck until the pay increases. if so i will drop apportioned to pull local.

Starting trip from port of Savannah gate#4 traveling hwy 307 to I-16 to I-75 to the I-285 beltway exchange outside Atlanta is 251 miles but your not at the customers door? You have just arrived on the outskirts of Atlanta but this is where most mileage stops. Everything from here is considered free mileage if the company has based your round trip pay on 500 miles. From this point on they consider the truck stops burning fuel, no additional equipment wear, and your professional driver time is donated

the funny part of all of this is when you tell them the miles are short and the money is not enough they say it is fair because it is light freight, that's the mentality we have to get away from, they actually canceled my lease because i voiced my opinion about there pay,i had a real hard time getting my pay because of jimmy out of Charlotte,i had to threaten to go to the dot about him not following hours of service to get payed, they are part of first coast out of Jacksonville, they got involved and payed me immediately

STAY AWAY Cheez, I see you have worked for them in the past and you know they are a part of ( agent for ) First Coast and Buddy out of Jax. What you don't know is that this company is owned by American Global Logistics out of Atlanta. American Global is an NVOCC who imports containers into the US mainly from China for the furniture industry. So these guys set the rates from China to the door and make money on every leg if they wanted to pay a higher rate it would be simple for them and then they could corner the market on drivers.

steamship lines had their chance to make this happen many years ago but followed in same foot steps of everyone else screwing truckers to the wall. c-truck out of charleston was the only decent paying one. I think they were owned by cgm lines at that time. the rest are only going to pay enough to attract a handful of o/o's with (i love the term) competitive wages.

your right driver.these people are DIRTCHEAP.another mistake.they think lite loads mean everything. until u get up to over 74+ the truck burns same amount dragging box down highway. containers mounted on steamer line chassis with 10x20 bias tires are worst fuel consumption of any other trailer.

I don't know who you are running for that only pays a little over $500 to Atlanta but Compass Intermodal in Charleston has drivers in savannah making $663 for Atlanta every day. that's the point bud. i don't run atlanta period anymore.maybe if it were to pay $8n-somechange i'd consider hooking up my pete. until that time i am perfectly happy with $55 local drayages or short jumps for two pop.funny how it used to pay twice that thirty years ago when fuel ws .76 per gallon but now it's charity wrk.
