midnight husler , you are wasting your time and energy even discussing this with these ILA asskissers. all they want to do is get on the good side with them so they can get through the piers faster . they will still be pulling the same cheap freight and junk equipment and still be nursing on the ILA peckers of those who they think will control them. as far as this chump mark, you are nothing , never will be either . you twist words into what your goodbuddy chump self wants to hear .hwen you finally grow up to be a man, and I doubt you ever will, find me on the ports and lets see if you are as smart as you think. You will look so stupid when you are put into your place let a little loud mouth child is ...

Well I don't have a problem informing any of you where I'll spend next week. It will not be pulling any loads until this port event is over with. I don't pull containers anymore unless they are empty boxes being repositioned to another port. During this time I won't be moving anyone's freight. I'm located within the Virginia port area so I'm not taking any chances of becoming some sickos target. I have three family members along with several friends who work at the harbor so if I did move freight it wouldn't be from these ports. Like I said before I'm not moving any port related freight or non port related freight so makes no difference to me what happens down there. The rest of you guys will have to live with the choices you make so mull it over carefully before you make any desperate move. This choice had better be based on your thoughts for your own actions not someones hatred toward the ILA. I know for a fact there are several companies in this area who are offering more money to move loads starting on Monday. I just turned some down. Have a nice day.

my truks paid for . i'ave been runing va ports for over16 years. seen a lot but this time is a big ,big mess. could not be at a worse time 4 us but we knew 4 months ago this may hapen so here we are. should have saved a buck or 2 so whos falt is that? what to do? i am going to work smart. off the radar. pickup at drop yard & move cans to nc & back to drop yd in richmond. no port wrk. depends how long you ave been with the company but they each have wrk beside the port. mayeb van wrk. the word of the day is smart. looking for trouble at the gat is not smart. i wnet into a air products plant strike one time that was mild compared to wht this will be. not a good thing. im not kissing ass at the port or kissing the truckin companys ass. if you want to wrk you can find somthing . its out ther jus look 4 it if the truck is yours to do what you want you can find wrk.

OK, let's be honest. Unions are out dated. You have 200 people deciding the fate of 16K. How is that fair? Why don't they have a secret ballot to vote for a strike? Oh, what am I thinking, that may be fair. Come on folks, who ever belives those not a very nice persons earn that much money? Let's get real. I hope they go private with workers who will WORK. 85% of port workers are true not a very nice personS. Most times backups are because of poor mangentment and lazy ass workers. Let's see, inbound wide open, out bound wide open and South Zone f**ked up, I wonder what real companies would do? Maybe pull some folks to the Zone? Oh, what am I thinking "It's not my job man", ask the union rep. if I can Multi-Task. Can't do it, I would be out of line not doing my union job. Wait, I have to have someone else to unlock my pins, can't walk 40 foot to do that. These people aren't in the real world. I would go into the port, past picket lines or anything else. Are they looking afer me when these compaines f**k me around? They could care less. How about when your in line for 2 hours and they leave the booth? Does 7-11 or any other business do that durning shift change? Hell No. It's suppose to be about customers, which we are and not what you can get away with because of a f**ked up union. Thanks for reading this, as for me, f**k those not a very nice persons!!!!

The truth is drivers talk to Ila workers thinking there friends. But its seems to me that they know when to organized more then us as drivers. My concern is not what the Ila makes an hour, royalties or what they own. Us as o/o need to stop fight against each other and get ourselves organized. Seem to me drivers know abt the Ila then they know trucking . not one driver is think abt they own pockets. When was the last time u as a driver got a raise or bonus check worth something. Im sick of watching our industry going down the hole. While these focus is up the Ila ass

i hope they get everything they want , and DESERVE ! it wouldnt hurt my feelings to see them choke on the money they get . maybe either the ILA or their families will be out on the road and the wheels will come off a truck and KARMA will decide what happens to whom

Our pay goes down and repairs goes up. I watch these drivers n the port while dot is in the ports and 90% of the drivers try to check out in the zones to sneak out the port. What the hell! ME PERSONALLY I CHECK OUT THE INTERCHANGE UP FRONT. Driver need to think abt that. Plus by 2014 u need a 04 or better to get inside the ports. So if u can't afford repairs now just wait till 2014 come and some of these driver get a truck note. That's just one y we need to come together and protest. U can think abt that while u drivers seat at home during the strike

ah the natives are getting restless. yes sir next week is going to separate the men from the boys. i think i might drive my camera up to the port terminal gates instead of my old truck. there should be quite a show with the companies convincing the new drivers or threatening the weak ones with disciplinary action unless they find a way in. on the other hand the union boys have been briefed on politically correct activities to deal with inexperienced hands behind the wheel. anyone for road side breakfast? bring plenty coffee and donuts and an extra tear gas mask.

ok, I started this thread so I will do the right thing and apologize to everyone. I just found out some things that I didnt know about so I will say "I am sorry for any feelings I may have hurt " . That being said, If anyone expects the drivers to back the ILA , then maybe we should be included in the discussions and not left in the dark. I as I said, need to work , but , if people want cooperation from me or any drivers for that matter, need to be kept in the loop so to speak , so we know what the hell is going on ...

Yea, we are customers, they get our paperwork and get or recive our containers. Get your facts stright Primetime, I'm not an idiot or a motor carrier, I pull for a motor carrier. Why don't you think before posting here jerk off. Hire help would be a company driver, I'm an owner operator, are you?? Who do you pull for? You sound about 16 years old, grow up and the name calling does none of us any good.

drivers in virginia are to busy fighting each other. we should use this energy to go after the real enemy. the ports & trucking companies are screwing over us but we waste time on bs like this. who cares what the dock workers are making? i'm happy they make the money they do. this just shows me what we should be receiving for truckin the port freight. if these people can pay those kind of wages to a checker or lift operator why the hell can't they pay more money to us? you already know why. we don't make them do it. there are to many drivers willing to haul cheap in norfolk. there are to many drivers who can't figure the cost to operate their own truck. there are many out here scared of their own shadow. we need a hampton roads driver assoc. formed to educate other drivers about this business. if we don't do something soon we all will go broke trying to stay in the business. i dare some trucking company to come on here and tell us how much money we are making. this system is set up for failure from the time you sign your lease papers.

Maybe a good start toward change would be for some of you guests to actually take the time to join this forum as members.I`m glad there hasn`t been a strike so far.Hope they will lock a new master contract soon.Best wishes to ALL my fellow porttruckers, especially Virginia, for a prosperous 2013. As I write this I am contemplating buying my last truck.Been waiting on this strike issue to settle, figure I got at least 6 more years before I kick back and take it easy, might as well spend it paying for another truck.lol

We should have several thousand drivers on this forum. Maybe the majority are making tons of money at the port which they don't want to reveal. That's probably not the case. Most likely we have"independent truckers" who must check with their company dispatch before joining the driver club
